Criminal law and criminal procedure. The Philippine Revised Penal Code, which is Act No. 3815 effect on January 1, 1932. There were already some amendments notably the crime of Rape which is now a public crime. On the other hand, the Revised Rules of Criminal Procedure which was promulgated by the Supreme Court (not by the Legislature) took effect on December 1, 2000. And there were also Supreme Court's issuances particularly geared toward the attainment of speedy trial or disposition of cases in the judiciary.
