The purpose of this textbook is to support the introductory course on Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction. This course will introduce the students to the application of scientific knowledge and the solution of practical problems in physical environment. Also, it is designed to beidge the gap between theoretical science and daily living.
At the end of this course, the student will learn the concept of disaster for daily use, conduct hazard hunts of expose elements, relate various types of hazard and develop a community and family emergency preparedness plan to guide them on what to do before, during and after a disaster.
