"This book has been prepared to help students and the teachers achieve the objectives of the course Earth and Life Science for the senior high level. Taken for 80 hours in one semester, this course deals with the continuation of the Science learning skills learned in the previous grade levels (K to Grade 10). This learning area is designed to provide general background for the understanding of Earth Science and Biology. It presents the history of the Earth's structure, composition, and processes. Issues, concerns, and problems pertaining to natural hazards are also included. It also deals with the basic principles and processes in the study of Life o Earth. It covers life processes and interactions at the cellular, organism, population and ecosystem levels."
