"For the third edition of the Sibs' Christian Life Education Series (CLES), one important change is the inclusion of a new book for grade 7 and a consequent change in the program for the upper grade levels. The new grade 7 book presents key themes of the Catholic faith that can help deepen the students' appreciation for the Old Testament (grade 8), the life, mission, and Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ as well as the life of the early Church (grade 9), and Catholic morality (grade 10). Through the series, students will hopefully understand and appreciate that religious faith-rather than being simply a list of topics to study-centers on our relationship with God. We learn about God's pagpapakilala in Sacred Scripture, Which is interpreted and expressed in the rich wisdom of the traditions and teachings of the church. It involves the response of our entire person-our minds, our hearts, and our hands. Lastly, the third edition of CLES responds to the signs and needs of the times by including the latest Catholic teachings of Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. It provides more examples of authentic and creative assessment and student activities, and it acknowledges the ever-evolving context of the fast-paced and digital world of the youth. This affirms that teaching the Catholic faith, while fundamentally the same at its core, seeks to find new ardor, new methods, and new expression-all of these are characteristics of the New Evangelization."
